1. He should have a sincere love and veneration for his Almighty Maker, productive of those happy fruits, righteousness and obedience to God's commands.

2. He should have a firm and steadfast faith in the Savior of the world, convinced that Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between a sinful creature and a holy and offended Creator.

3. Being reliant upon the power and grace of the Holy Spirit his disposition should be humane and compassionate.

4. He should be an enemy to brutality, and every species of non-Christian conduct.

5. He should be a lover of rationale and improving society, faithfully regarding the Protestant
Religion, and sincerely desirous of propagating its precepts, viz.: charity and good will toward all.

6. He should be careful to preserve sobriety and good conduct among his brethren, condemning
impertinence as an abomination.

7. He should be zealous in the promotion of the honor, happiness and prosperity of the Order.

8. He should be a lover and loyal defender of his country, being careful to suppress all Anti-Christian encroachments and invasions.

9. He should have a hatred of cursing or swearing, and of the profane use of God's holy name.

10. He should shun the company all men addicted to any or all of these aforementioned habits, which are in opposition to the divine teachings of the Bible, and the good government of this Institution.

11. Prudence and loyalty should guide all his actions. Temperance, charity and honesty should direct his conduct, and the laudable objects of the Orange Institutions should be the motives of all his endeavors through life.
